Case Study Review

South Oxhey, on the outskirts of Watford, grew swiftly in the 1950s and contains a high proportion of social housing. Much of this housing and nearby commercial property had fallen into a state of disrepair and was no longer safe for habitation. Three Rivers District Council embarked upon a regeneration project for the area and appointed Countryside Properties to transform the area into modern living space and commercial units, allowing for flexible use.

The refreshed area will provide pleasant, modern housing for hundreds of residents and a vibrant communal hub for leisure and commerce.

Rye Group were appointed by Countryside Properties to complete the demolition of one particular phase at the end of 2020 and into 2021. The work involved extensive demolition, remediation, enabling and groundworks, as well as the installation of piling mats for onward development.
