We are committed to working in partnership with clients, staff and external consultants to foster an exemplary safety culture, backed up by the appropriate behaviours. We invest heavily in training and the provision of up-to-date information to all staff to ensure everyone in the organisation operates in a safe manner.
We have trained Mental Health First Aiders accessible to all staff and also actively support The Lighthouse Club charity, dedicated to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing needs of the construction community and their families.
At all times we review the latest guidance from the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and other organisations, updating signage and daily briefings to ensure best practice is always deployed.
One area of particular focus in recent times has been the implementation and revision of exclusion zone guidance.
The NFDC has developed fresh guidance, alongside contractors like us, to ensure it delivers optimal safety practices and is workable in a live environment.
As champions of health & safety in the world of demolition, we wanted to ensure that Rye Group was one of the first to implement the new guidance and to be be an advocate for its uptake across the industry. In this short film you can see a little about how we have implemented exclusion zones on our sites.
All staff are trained on how to behave in and around the zones and how they should be set-up and moved, dependent on the phase of work underway.
